Scour (or sc0ur) is an ott20 quantum roguelike set in the post-apocalyptic 1980s. But what does that mean?

ott20: ott20 is a homebrew tabletop RPG system from owlmoth games. Drawing inspiration from other d20-style tabletop games, it allows for a vast variety of settings and creative game mechanics. Scour is the first ott20 implementation in a video game.

quantum: The retro-futurist setting of Scour is predicated on an infinite timeline understanding of quantum mechanics, but the idea permeates more than just the game's lore. Gameplay mechanics (still in development) exploit the probabilistic nature of the game's universe, allowing the player to alter the present and future by introducing changes in the past.

roguelike: Rogue was an early 1980s roleplaying game for classic home computers like the Amiga and Commodore 64. "Roguelike" games are RPGs that rely on concepts often associated with Rogue, like randomly generated environments to explore, turn-based gameplay, tile-based maps, and character permadeath. Roguelikes are generally easy to learn but challenging to master, and offer excellent replay value as no two playthroughs are identical.

Scour is currently in pre-beta, this is currently a playable demo of the combat system.
